West View Cottage

West View is a bright, 3 bedroomed, recently renovated 16th Century cottage, conveniently close to all the village amenities. With private parking for two cars and a small garden and patio overlooking fields and forest, this really is a lovely haven to relax in and enjoy.

The modern fitted kitchen/dining is fully equipped with integrated washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Cooking is by gas hob and fan assisted oven and a microwave is also provided for convenience. The conservatory connected to the kitchen offers an alternative breakfast or afternoon relaxing room.

The spacious living room again benefits from a superb view across open fields and has a gas coal-effect fire, Wi-Fi, freeview digital TV, mini hi-fi/docking station, and DVD player (a small selection of movies is provided but you may wish to bring some of your own).

Accommodation comprises the master bedroom, with king size bed, a twin bedded room and a smaller room with bunk beds, ideal for children. The bathroom has a bath/shower suite and there is a second WC downstairs.

Gas central heating keeps the cottage cosy and we will supply linen and towels at no extra charge. A travel cot and high chair are provided but should you require more than one of each please ask.

Up to two well-behaved dogs are most welcome at an extra charge of £20.

All prices are in pounds sterling and based on weekly (Saturday – Saturday) bookings
All bed linen, towels, kitchen cloths etc included
Bookings will be confirmed upon receipt of a non-refundable deposit of £200.00
We recommend individuals make arrangements for personal travel insurance to cover financial losses in the event of a cancellation as deposits are non-refundable
Dogs are welcome in all properties
All properties are non-smoking
Check-in time is from 2.30pm Check-out is by 10.30am

Flag Cottage

Flag Cottage is an 18th Century cottage in the heart of the village. Originally cattle and horses were housed at ground level and the family lived above. Now the accommodation consists of a ground floor fully fitted kitchen and a double bedroom with private facilities. Upstairs there is a double bedroom with en suite bathroom, a single bedroom and a snug sitting room with an outlook over the village rooftops to the wooded slopes of Latterbarrow.

There is gas central heating throughout the cottage and a TV/DVD player in each room (a small selection of movies are provided). WiFi is available throughout the cottage.

A small garden and patio area offer a lovely little ‘sun trap’ on sunny days but parents of small children must be aware that a stream runs beside the garden boundary so care must be taken to supervise them whilst outside.

Parking is provided for up to 2 cars on the village car park and the unloading point is in the square, outside the Kings Arms, roughly 50 yards from the cottage.

Up to two well-behaved dogs are most welcome at an extra charge of £20.

Fern Cottage is a quaint 18th Century Lakeland Cottage, formerly the village police house, in a quiet cobbled yard off the main village square.

Guests enter the property directly into the cosy lounge, complete with beams and an open fire with slate surround. There is comfortable seating for four to sit and enjoy the TV and WiFi, perfect for relaxing after a day’s exploring the Lake District.

Moving through to the spacious kitchen/diner, there is a traditional farmhouse styled kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge, microwave, washer/dryer and dishwasher. There is a dining table which is great for sharing family meals or playing a game.

A narrow spiral staircase leads from the lounge to the first floor where you will find the first of the bedrooms in which is a double bed. Continuing up the twisting stairs takes you to the second bedroom with its sloping ceiling and exposed beams. Each bedroom has a t.v. and en suite shower room with shower and WC. The upper most bedroom has ‘zip-linked’ beds to offer either twin beds or a double bed.

Electric central heating and the open fire keep the cottage cosy. Coal and logs are available from the Kings Arms.

Parking permits are provided for up to 2 cars to park on the main village car park. The unloading/loading point is in the square, outside the Kings Arms, roughly 50 yards from the cottage.
